December 29, 2014-Wellington

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!! Hope you guys had as awesome of a christmas week as i did!! probably not...sorry.:)
So I got to skype with my parents! So much fun!! I cant believe that that was the last time i will see them until i am home!! crazy stuff! We had awesome members that fed us for christmas eve and christmas! Such good food! the bishop fed us for christmas eve and he fed us this ginormous steak! It was like the size of my face!! you should have seen our faces when they plopped that chunk of meat on our plates! haha:) But we really were so grateful for our members and this ward for making us feel so blessed and welcomed and not haviing us miss our families as much!
This week was amazing!! Truly a Christmas Miracle!!! During district training this week we talked about going the extra mile and enduring to the end, so thats something that My companion and I wanted to apply to this week. So on Christmas night we had a couple of more minutes left and had to decide if we were going to go home and be a couple of minutes early or go the extra mile and oym! Well we went the extra mile and we OYMed this guy on the side of the road. He was talking on the phone so we really didnt get to talk to him long. We hadnt thought that our efforts of going the extra mile had been very fruitful so we were a little sad when we went back home because we had been hoping all day to see a christmas miracle. Well the next day we felt inspired to harvest in this one area and we are knocking doors and we knock into this guy. We say a prayer with him and he automatically says yes to everything!!! He tells us, "You guys gave me a card last night!" Me and my companion look at each other and are like "Its the christmas Miracle!" He had been the guy we had OYMed on the side of the road on Christmas night! he had been visiting his son on a different side of town so he was surprised he opened the door to see the exact same people he had seen last night! he said that he knew that God was trying to send him a sign and that God had sent us to him twice now so he better start listening! He is so elect!! He is amazing!
So on Sunday morning we go knock on his door to make sure that he is ready and we wake him up but he is not even mad about that!(which is a huge blessing) he is happy to see us and says that hes going to go get ready and borrow his cousins car to get to church. So we go to church and are all happy waiting by the door to greet him and we wait...and wait...and wait... the opening hymn starts playing and we start getting a little nervous, then the sacrament hymn starts playing, and me and my companion are practically getting whip lash from turning around and checking the door everytime someone comes in to see if its him. He ends up not coming to sacrament and we were so bummed!! We call him and he tells us that he was all ready and had even found some church clothes but his cousin left and wasnt answering the phone so he was trying to call everyone he could to get a ride and fiinally his sons stepfather was willing to give him a ride but he hadnt gotten there yet! So quickly we go to a member who is in sunday school and ask him if he could give our investigator a ride to make it to the other wards sacrament meeting! HE SAID YES!!!!! You would not believe! It was a miracle! He walks out of sunday school gets his wife and they both go and get our investigator!! Blessings! so many Blessings! So we both drive over to our investigator and he is there standing outside all ready! Our amazing member picks him up and we both go back to church! on the way there our member starts talking to him about the priesthood and everything (hes a returned missionary! RM's are so awesome!) and when we get to church he starts giving him a chapel tour and talking about the pictures and the sacrament and the first vision! It was the best member present lesson ive ever had!
So after church we go back and teach our investigator with this same member we teach about the first vision and our member is just on fire teaching him everything! and our investigator says yes to baptism!! WE ARE SO EXCITED !!! CHRISTMAS MIRACLES!!!! SO MANY CHRISTMAS MIRACLES!  He is getting baptized this week and we are so grateful that we followed the promptings of the spirit and  went the extra mile with the added strength from God!
God is good!
Love you!

December 22, 2014-Wellington

GUYS GUESS WHAT!:)))) I LOVE MY NEW COMPANION!!!!! Her name is Sister Rampersad and she is from trinidad! She is half indian and half Venezualan, Halfsies for life!
Anyways, its actually kind of a funny story how we found out we were going to be companions, so we were at the transfer meeting and usually we dont find out until the ap's (assistants to the president) tell us with this huge powerpoint thing, but we were picking up mail and all of a sudden I hear sister rampersad saying my name, and then i turn around and see that she has a package and it has both of our names on it! I turn to her and say, "Well I guess were companions!" yay!! I love her so much! she is just awesome! she is helping me learn  and progress so much its amazing!!
A miracle that we saw was we went to round up two investigators that live in the same house for church. we knock on the door and our investigators arent there and only the son is there. We talk to the son a little  bit and ask him where his mom is he says he has no idea he just woke up and they were just all gone!  Our member ride was coming in ten minutes so We take advantage of the opportunity of a member giving a ride and ask if he would like to come to church and he says that he just got like a couple hours of sleep and hes not ready. we were a little worried and finally decided to just call off the ride with the member. We decided to say a prayer to figure out what we needed to do and the second we open our eyes our investigator walks up!!! she tells us that she was trying to help a friend that was having troubles and was trying to get back as soon as possible and she just had to run inside and get her dress on and she would be ready!  We quickly start calling our member to get her to still give them a ride, but turns out that our member is lost!! since my companion is new to the area she doesnt know how to give directions so it up to me!!!! For those of you that know me you know that I am sooooo bad with directions! I am always getting lost! even in my own town that i have grown up in my whole life!! so let me tell you that it was a true miracle and help from the spirit that all of a sudden i was able to give directions and remember where things where and know where north, south, east, and west where especially because i had gotten lost the day before getting to a members house and he had helped me figure out where was everything so i was able to use it to guide this member to the house! Miracle!!!! so finally the member pulls up! our two investigators come out and one of our investigators comes up to us and asks us "What did you tell me son?" and we were like "why?" and she said, "Because hes coming to church!! He hasnt come to church in years!" She was so happy! and it was a true miracle of God!:)) they all get in the car and come to church!!! Me and my companion where practically in tears we were so happy and excited!:) Satan tried sooo hard to not get them to church but the power of God overpowers all!:)
anyways hope you all are sharing the "He's the Gift" Video and showing it to all your friends! It is really powerful!:) go share it on facebook right now!!
Merry Christmas! I love you!!!

December 16, 2014-Wellington

This week was amazing! And so much fun!!!!!!!! We had our christmas Party and it was a blast!!!!! Every zone did a little skit and our zone did the nativity for our skit and I was chosen to be mary! which was kind of weird but ended up being really fun!! And I got to see all my friends!!! I got to see Sister Moffett! I was so excited! Anyways and this week has also just been filled with miracle after miracle!
We were with this member and we went to go see Lewis our investigator. When we had first found him he felt the spirit so strong but he had started to get a little antied by his family. So we decided to take this member out with us and teach the restoration. We finished talking about Joseph Smith and had our member bare her testimony about the truthfulness of the book of mormon and Joseph Smith. The second she starts talking the spirit just flooded the room! She started crying and we look over to Lewis and he has tears in his eyes! It was such an amazing experience! Members testimonies are so powerful!! We truly can not do this work without them!
Also we found out last night that Sister Walker is leaving!!! Oh man! I am so sadd! We wont get to be together for Christmas!! But I am kind of excited to stay in this area! the members are amazing!!! they truly help so much!!
So this week me and sister walker where knocking doors and we saw this Dog through the sliding glass door and we were like no problem we can just go up to the door. little did we see that there was a doggy door. we had already knocked so it not like we could just leave so we just dont move or breath, hoping he hadnt noticed us. I look back about to tell my companion that maybe the dog doesnt know how to use the doggy door when all of a sudden he sticks his head out of the doggie door! oh man we were so scared!! we have both heard horror stories about sisters and dogs! anyways turns out the dog was too fat to fit through the doggy door and we merrily went on our way:)
Also we went to go visit a member family and they have this 4 yr old daughter and she just started getting really excited when we walked in and I was like "so cute! someone is excited to see us!!"(This really makes you feel good when you're a missionary) and she would come up to me and my companion and then run back to her mom with this big smile. My companion and I were a little confused but we just figured she was just really happy. Then all of a sudden she starts saying to her mom, "Look mom! look mom! Its anna and elsa!" and then her mom starts laughing! Turns out this little 4 yr. old thought that we looked like anna and elsa from Frozen! since my companion and I both had braids in and she is blonde and i have brown hair! haha:) It was the cutest thing ever! and me and my companion felt so good about ourselves afterward for making a 4 yr olds day we were practically skipping out the door!:)
Love you guys!!!
Have a great Chrismas next week!

December 8, 2014-Wellington

We were able to get a miracle of 4 people to sacrament and that was a true miracle from God. This week in the scriptures i have been reading about the brother of Jared and the tremendous faith that he has. Lately I have been trying to put my full heart and mind into the work and trying to figure out how to do that so thats what i will be studying this week. We decided to take a member out with us but all of our appointments were falling though so we decided to just take her out harvesting with us and the first two doors where a little rough and you could tell that our member was getting a little hesitant to knock on the next door but we told her that usually right before we find an amazing person satan tries to distract us so we go up to the next door faithfilled and we knock on this door and this man comes out with his three little kids. We ask him if we can say a prayer and he invites us in! Our member was so excited she jumps right in and says, "Yes!" so we go in leave the prayer and this man starts crying! He had been saying just the night before to his wife that he truly needed to be closer to God and we showed up! What a miracle! and it made our member really excited to come out harvesting later on!:)
Sorry guys not much else this week! Love you!

December 1, 2012-Wellington

Hey guys!!!
How is everything going???? Me and my companion are stoked for christmas now!!! We are really crossing our fingers that we dont get transferred from each other right before christmas!!! We would really be sad!! I even missed her when she was gone for exchanges for just ONE day! Ahhh!! what am I going to do when I go home and dont have a companion?
We also went on a full day exchange with the STL's and it was amazing to see the mriacles that came from it. We decided to OYM this lady but she got into her car really fast but we ran up to her car and had her put her window down and we said a prayer with her!:) she loved the prayer and she had even been taught a little by the sisters and had visited the church, but thats not the miracle! the whole time while we were saying the prayer and talking to her there was a lady that suddenly stopped behind the car and started listening to us. and while we were testifying to the first lady, this lady started nodding her head like she agreed with what we were saying! We were a little confused at first so after the prayer she comes straight up to us and says, "What church are you guys from?" We tell her and give her a card and ask her if she would like a prayer. she says yes automatically and we say the prayer and afterward she is crying!:) she definitly felt the spirit and afterwards she was talking about how she wants to come to church and maybe she even might become a member even BEFORE we invited her to be baptized!! It was amazing! A true miracle because we realized afterward that if we hadnt made that effort to oym the lady in the car we would never have run into her!!!! Heavenly Father truly is a God of miracles:)!
Also this week my companion wasnt feeling too good one day so we had to stay in. she had gone to take a shower while I was studying and hadnt known that she had just taken a shower (*side not, when we take a shower the shower door isnt too secure so water just pours out and we have to mop it up with a towel afterward and there are always these huge puddles of water laying around) So I go into the bathroom just humming a song, and suddenly I feel water under my feet and by the time I noticed I was in a huge puddle of water it was too late! I started slipping and feel hard on my back! I didnt scream while i was falling but after I fell I started screaming trying to get the sympathy from my sick companion telling her, "I think I broke my arm!" (I might have exaggerated a little bit too much) but anyways everything turned out okay and I only have a bruise on my arm now:)
Thanksgiving was awesome!!:)) We had a Thanksgiving Lunch and a Thanksgiving Dinner!! The Lunch was awesome! It was at a recent converts house and she fed us all the traditional thanksgiving american food! and then for dinner we had "soul food" thanksgiving which was really cool to experience! It was mac and cheese, Barbacue chicken, ham, collared greens, buttermilk pie the list goes on! It was really cool to experience all these different thanksgiving traditions! and the buttermilk pie was pretty good!! Members kept on sending pies with us home but I definietly wasnt complaining!!:)) I love pies!!
Anyways I love you guys!! Hope your all excited for christmas!!
Have you heard of the new christmas video the church has out?? It is really good! It like 2 minutes long and talks about how Jesus Christ is the gift of christmas! Go check it out!:)

November 24, 2014-Wellington

This week was awesome!! I got to see my lovely daughter( Mission lingo for someone I trained) Sister Moffett at a specialized training and it was so awesome to see her again!! All the northern Zones were together for a training and our mission president surprised us by allowing us to see Meet the Mormons! Which is such a good movie!! If you havent seen it i recommend that you do!:)) It was perfect!! All the Missionaries loved it! This week we had a miracle! We had been training on chapel tours during the beginning of the week by our district leader and we decided that we were going to get one. So we asked pretty much everyone we knew but no one was available to come. So we go and visit a Recent convert and she and her sister are just hanging out at home when all of a sudden my awesome cousin asks her sister if she is busy and wants to come on a chapel tour!! It was amazing! she came!! and she had a great experience! We really felt the spirit during the part we were in the sacrament room.
Also that same recent convert brought one of her friends to church!! We were so excited to see her friend because the sisiters before us had been teaching her a bit but she had just gotten really busy. she was really sick though and so we asked her if she would like a health blessing and she said yes!! After church she looked so much better and even said she felt better!! Then we saw her later that night and she said that she wants us to meet her family!:)
anyways I dont have much time this week guys sorry! But I hope you have a great thanksgiving! LOVE YOU!

November 17, 2014-Wellington

AHHH!!!! So guys I am offically in wellington! and I love it!!! The ward is sooo amazing! I dont think i have every seen such an amazing and missionary focused ward!!! and they made me feel super welcomed! My new companion is just amazing!!!! I cant believe how lucky i am! her name is sister walker!!! and she is awesome!!!! We have so much fun!! and of course work hard!:)
This week has been amazing we have seen miracle after miracle as we strived our hardest to follow the spirit and be guided by God. One specific experience was amazing!! We had just finished a lesson with an investigator and were about to get into the car when we felt like maybe we should go visit a Less Active near by. Earlier that day we had committed ourselves to oym every person to allow God to trust us enough to place people in our path. So we see this women sitting on her car on the telephone and we go up and ask to give her a card and also ask her if she would like a prayer. She immediately tells the person on the phone that she will call her back and looks at us and starts asking us why we came up to her and why are we walking this late at night around here and what made us come up to her? We told that we honestly didnt know but that we knew we needed to talk to her, Then she starts crying and telling us that God truly sent us to her. She had been having a horrible week. she is a single mother of a 4 year old and her car had died in the beginning of the week and so she had had to walk with her 4 year old 16 miles to school with her 4 year old and in total it was 32 for her. She also didnt have a job so she had just needed some help and support from God. We testified to her telling her that we knew we were sent to here! We said a prayer with her and the spirit was so strong! I coudlnt believe it. you could just feel so strongly how much our Heavenly Father loved her, his daughter, at this  time. It was amazing!
Also we were knocking doors and knocked into this kid named daquan! Man he has such hi desires!! We read moroni 10 with him and he just wanted to keep on reading!!! and just kept on saying how excited he was for his baptism!!!
Also! We got a referral from these other missionaries, we show up and out comes this HUGE 6'3 guy!!! (keep in mind that I am 5'1 and my compaion is 4'11)  He is actually a football player for a professional team and is on the offensive line! We said a prayer with him and he seems like he has really high desires too, he was really nice! Me and my companion where just thinking of how our baptism picture would look like with two short girls and this football player:D hahaha
anyways I have had an awesome week! hope you guys have had one too!:)) I love you so much!!!!!

November 10, 2014-Royal Palm Beach

CThis week was amazing. Heavenly Father was blessing us for our patience this week! We were knocking doors when we ran into this lady that we had OYMed (Open Your Mouth) before! she had loved the prayer we said with her before and wanted us to come see her son but we hadnt gotten her number, so we were knocking doors when my companion felt inspired to go and knock on this one door, This lady opend the door and is sooo excited to see us! Turns out that she doesnt even live there but that she works there as a nurse aid. it was a miracle that we were able to knock on her door of where she works! She was so excited to see us and immediately told us, "wait just 15 min. I can get off of work and drive you to my home and introduce you to my son." It was amazing we said a prayer with her son and he accepted baptism!! I was truly a miracle!! We couldnt believe it!! and the first lesson we had with him was amazing! He talked about how he had had mormon friend before and had always wanted to read the book of mormon but had never asked for one!! He said that he already knows that his Book is going to bless his life! miracle upon miracle!
Also this is transfer week soooo......I AM GETTING TRANSFERRED!!! AHH!!!! So we live with other sisters that have an area close to ours so on the transfer call it said, "Sister Miles: Transfer...across the hall!" I couldnt believe it! I already know my companion! Her name is sister Walker and I had already lived with her for two transfers and I love her!!! She is from Idaho!! and I dont even have to pack my stuff just literally move it across the hall!:)) I feel so much peace about this decision and this upcoming transfer we are just so excited to be companions and to get to work!:)) when we found out me and her jumped up and hugeed each other and were just screaming!!:)) God is real and he is so kind! He knows our desires our wished, what we want to accomplish, He wants us to be happy, he loves us so much! More that we can imagine! Just Hold tight to that iron rod and "continue in patience until ye are perfected" (D&C 67:13)

November 3, 2014-Royal Palm Beach

This week was good! We saw some amazing miracles with less actives. We had set up an appointment to go visit this less active, we show up on sat. and he doesnt look too happy to see us but he lets us in, we talk to him get to know him a little bit and he says how he grew up in the church but that he kind of fell away from the church when he was 18 and had a problem with the word of wisdom and wasnt going to be coming back to church. So we asked him if we could say a prayer with him and he was like, thats fine, and sister jones, my companion, left an amazing prayer and she finishes and he is crying, we had no words, it was just silent for a little bit, it was amazing we know for sure he felt the spirit and afterwards he said, "I need to make it back to church" and he is going to let us come over again! We are so excited just to help one of Heavenly Fathers children return back to the fold and also his family are not members! We hope Heavenly Father will truly guide us in what we need to do for him:) also we were visiting this less active lady that we hadnt seen since my first week in the area and she was soooo nice!!! We are going back this week to go help her out with her back yard! We are super excited!! Truly we have been searching and searching for opportunities of service that we could give to members and non members and God has been blessing us with these opportunities to help his children! We even got to paint a house this week which was super fun!!! Who Knew! haha:)
I hope you guys had an awesome Halloween!! We had an awesome trunk or treat at the church for our ward and it went really well! We got to judge the costumes and i loved it!!!!
So for halloween we were asked to go home early, so i had bought some candy to pass out to kids because i was so excited!!! I pass out candy to like three kids when all of a sudden the door bell rings and these 14 yr. olds are outside, I open the door all excited! say, "Happy Halloween!" and they take all of my candy!! all of it!! I just stood there frozen! I didnt know how to tell them only to take one candy! So I just waved at them goodbye and said, "have a good night..." I was so devastated that i had to have my companion tell the other little kids that came to our door that there was no more candy, haahaha I felt too bad!:) haaha but after a while i got over it! I guess now i know for next halloween!
Love you guys!! hope you didnt eat to much candy!

October 27, 2014-Royal Palm Beach

This week has been a little harder than most but Heavenly father showed us little tender mercies to help push us along! We were sitting in the car praying ready to go out to harvest when we spot this lady and this man talking next to a car. We decide to go and OYM them and we give the guy a card but the lady was already in her car. We start walking and this lady jumps out of the car and asks for a card too. We turn around and give her a card and then ask her if she would like a prayer and she said yes!:) She had been having a really hard time last night because her son had tried to commit suicide and she didnt know what to do. We were an answer to her prayers!! She said she would call us later and have us come over to say a prayer with her son! She even spoke spanish so it was awesome to be able to pray and speak in spanish again!:) Heavenly Father definietly knew that we needed something to help us along! We are excited for the trunk or treat that  we will be having for our ward! Someone asked us to judge the costumes so we are supper excited for that!:)) Its been so cool to see how everyone decorates the outside of their houses here for any holiday!! I makes it a lot more interesting and exciting to see something different at houses! I never realized how important a place mat at the front of the door is until i started seeing like 100 per day hahaha:) Now whenever we come across a cool one, soft one, or one we havent seen, we get really excited! So this week the elders from our ward baptized this couple that had been investigating the church for years! they were practically mormon they just hadnt been baptized yet! They are so awesome and love the church so much! Their friends that introduced them to the church flew down to baptize them so it was a really special experience for them! You could really feel their happiness and we love them! Well thats all guys!:) I hope you have had a great week!

October 20, 2014-Royal Palm Beach

So this week was seriously a trial of our faith week but God showed us in the end that if we keep diligent and endure to the end he will bless us. This week we had a really hard time finding anyone solid, but we would have little miracles here and there kind of like Heavenly Father telling us not to give up yet. So we kept diligent on working in our area and really trying to improve in our areas of weakness and then a miracle happened!
We were sitting in church when this lady starts waving at me. Sacrament Meeting had already started so I just kind of quietly waved back pretending like I knew who she was. With coming to a new ward you see and meet new people every second so i just figured she was another member but I was thinking really hard, "Where have I seen here?!?" Until finally it clicked and I practically jumped out of my seat and gasped really loud! The people behind me must have thought i was crazy but I had just suddenly remember that she was a lady that we had OYMed while looking for a less active and she came in with her Husband! We were estactic! It was actually a miracle that we had even seen her because the less active we were going to see had their gate locked so we just left a card in their gate and were about to leave when we decided to knock some doors in the area. We knock into this really sweet old lady but she wasnt really interested but talked to us for like 15 min. so when we finallly got out we saw that the less active was pulling out of their driveway. We ran over to her house and got her attention and asked her if that less active lived there and turns out that he doesnt. so we asked her if she needed a prayer and she said YES!! She said she had actually really needed one at that time so we said a prayer and invited her to be baptized and to church and she said she would really consider it. She was soo nice she even gave us a lunchable that we think we supposed to be her lunch for work! It was really sweet of her!
So when sacrament meeting finished we rushed over to her and asked her how she liked it and she had this big smile on her face!:) We are really excited to go and see her this week and see how her AND her husband can progress. We were so grateful for the miracles that Heavenly Father showed us this week. We realized later that if we had not had the feeling to go knock some doors and if the nice old lady hadnt talked to us for 15 min. we would NOT have met the lady!!! He truly is mindful of us and guides our lives more than we can even possibly imagine. I truly believe that if we are willing to give of our full heart mind might and strength He lifts our burdens for us when we believe we can not hold on any longer. He loves us. Thats what i learned this week. My Heavenly Father loves me and everyone else also. We are all his children and He loves us.

P.S. HAppy birthday to my BROTHER JORDAN!!:))

October 14, 2014-Royal Palm Beach

This week was a little hard but as we kept diligent we were able to truly see miracles. We were harvesting one day and we had been harvesting for most of the day and we were towards the end of our night and we were feeling little down because we hadnt found anyone but Heavenly Father showed us a miracle. We OYMed a guy in his yard and said a prayer with him. he was pretty cool but said he was attending a different church. We continued walking down the street when we hear this lady running towards us yelling, Sisters! We were so surprised that someone was chasing us down! So she finally catches up to us and says she remembers the sisters that came by a year ago and they had said a prayer with her and she loved it and that right now she was going through a hard time at work so she really wanted another prayer. We were so happy and she said the prayer with her and she loved it and this morning she calls us!!! and asks for another prayer for guidance right before she goes to work and she loved it!! She said that she is definietly coming to church this sunday!! We are so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who is willing to help us when we are in need.
Other than that things are going good:) I went to our ward for the first time on Sunday and it was  really fun!:) Everyone seemed really nice so I am really excited to get to know them. Sorry this post is so short! Love you guys

Our house that we live in is amazing! I am so grateful for it since coming from the super ghetto house in Hialeah. My new companions name is Sister Jones and she is from Corona, California, which is cool to have a fellow californian as a companion. General conference was super good!!! I think it was the first time that i had written down actual questions and then i took a bunch of notes and I felt like they were answered!:) Things are doing good, We are excited to go out and work! You guys should go see the Meet the Mormons movie thingy! I heard that its supposed to be good:) This general confereence was my last one on the mission! Its crazy how fast time has gone by! September 30, 2014-Doral South

So GOOD!!! This week has seriously been the best week of my mission! The Madriz Family got baptized!!!!! We are so happy for them! It was an amazing experience. They were so excited for it all and so many people came for the baptism!! Everyone in this ward loves them! During fast and testimony meeting all the members where thanking Heavenly Father for the family that was getting baptized, it was soo cute!!! We had SEVEN people getting baptized in total that day with our ward and the other ward and it was sooo hectic! We were trying to get the other wards baptism to hurry up so that we would have time for ours and their werent enough baptismal suits for everyone and the water in the font was gettign cold and we were not goign to have enough to time to fill it and we had to do the programs and etc. everyone was just sooo stressted. We were trying to print out the program for the Families baptism and the printer started just throwing out papers printing on the wrong side and we finally just freaked out and unplugged the printer and walked out of the printer room practically pulling our hair out!, right as we walk out some of the elders see our stressted out faces and look into the printer room and see that the printer had practically exploded and their were papers every where!! the elders where so scared of us! They asked us if their was anything they could do to help us and we were like, you can deal with this nonsense printer thingies, and we walked off. It was so hectic, but we were so grateful! their were so many blessings that day that we literally had no room to receive them!!(like seriously there was no room)
When the baptism was about to start the ligths in the whole church building went out! but no one was worried about it! The Madriz family had so much desire to get baptized it didnt matter what happened. We went ahead with the baptism and William was the first to be baptized and he had to step into the font and it was pitch black! and we had some members use their phones to shine light into the font! It was amazing I couldnt believe that they wanted to get baptized so bad that the were willing to get baptized in the dark! When William got baptized it was the most amazing thing ever. We felt the spirit so strong and he felt it too! He gave a hug to the member that baptized him and thanked him so much and started tearing up. It was amazing. He then waited for his wife to get baptized before going to go get changed and then the mom and dad watched as their daugther got baptized! It was so beautiful! This family deciding to all take this life changing decision and supporting one another and you could just feel the love and the happiness that they had!:) After the baptism the ward had made a small little luncheon for them and as we walked into the cultural hall we asked william how he felt and he started tearing up and saying, "I have no words, thank you" It was amazing! We love this family with all of our hearts and are so grateful we even had the blessing of being a little part of their conversion. We went to go visit them the next day and talking about the temple and how they can be sealed for eternity as a family in a year and William said how lucky they where to find the true church of Jesus Christ. They are AMAZING! that is why we were so sad when we heard that BOTH me and sister moffett are TRANSFERRING!!!!
We couldnt believe it when we heard! I was so angry!! what is going to happen to our family? what is going to happen to Amelia and Javier and the members that need our help right now? I just kept on thinking about this over and over again, but then one of the sister missionaries told me, dont worry, God knows, He knows what hes doing, and then thats when i realized, Everything is going to be alright, everything is going to be just fine:) I was teaching all these people about relying on God in your trials you just have to let everything go and lean on him and I got an opportunity to finally practice what we preach:) So here goes another adventure!! of course i am so nervous i can hardly think! Where am i going?? Who am i going to be with?? But its okay:) Heavenly Father loves me! He knows me! He knows whats best for me! and that means that all i have to do is  work hard and leave the rest to him:) I love you guys!! I am excited to let you know where i end up!:)
I miss you!
PLEASE SEND ME LETTERS!!!

Guys!:)) I sent you some pictures so hopefully it will make up for the short blog post. So this week actually has been super crazy and exciting!! One day we were knocking doors and we actually had to call the police on someone! Turns out the guy was not doing good things (we dont really know much because the police didnt tell us anything) but they actually had to take the guy into custody so that was super exciting! and scary! but really more exciting than scary! And we are all fine so it was really just an exciting mission story to tell when I get back! The Madriz family is doing soooo awesome!:)) We love them to death!! they asked for a picture of a "mormon" Jesus and we went to a members and got one for them:) They loved it so much! They immediately stuck a nail into the wall and put it up so that you could see it right away when you enter the door! and the dad has already read all the was to Mormon, in the Book of Mormon! We were so surprised! They have so many friends at church already its incredible and of course everyone loves their daughter who is 5:) she is adorable! I sent some pictures of her! She is learning english so all she knows right now is, sit down, and stand up, its really cute!:)) So for our planners everyone in this mission goes all out and decorates them, so this elder had asked us to decorate his planner cover for him so we were like okay! So this elder super likes star wars and we were going through birthday cards listeing to the music on the inside (i super enjoy this time, its really sad how tired you get of Mormon tabernacle choir on your mission, I will never listen to it again in my life) and we found one with a star wars theme song and me and my companion looked at each other and said, "Best. planner. cover. ever." So basically we rigged it so that everytime he opens the planner the song turns on! Yes we will be famous throughout the whole mission now. No big deal. anyways I lovey ou guys!!!!!!!!

p.s. Dont ask how long it took us to make that planner cover...
p.s.s. We basically hate the star wars theme song now too because we had to listen to it a bajillion times while we were making it.

This is crazy Gabriella Madriz. She's the best.

Adriana and Gabriella. Adriana is getting baptized next week with her mom and dad! We love this family so so much!!!!

September 15, 2014-Doral South

So this week was incredible guys!!! The Madriz Family came to church! and also 2 other of our investigators!!! We were so excited!!! It was amazing and truly a miracle!! The family came early because they wanted to come to talk to our bishop!:) They got to know him and we loved church they are making so many friends. There little girl who is 5 years old is so CUTE!! I will send a picture of her next week! Sister Moffett and I are in love with her. Everytime we got over we say okay you are coming home with us say bye to your parents! and she gladly walks out the door with us! she loves doing our hair and we always come out having the weirdest hairstyles but we love them so much! Later that Sunday they texted us saying they were looking for a TV and to let them know if anyone was willing to donate one, and we knew the bishop had an extra one that he was trying to give away so we thought, "what a perfect opportunity to stop by!" so we get the elders to come and carry the tv for us (poor elders!, but honestly it was way to heavy for us!) and we show up at their door with a tv! They were so excited espeically their 5 year old! So we were talking to them for a little bit when suddenly a couple from another ward stops by!! Instant member present!! We were so grateful!! They were baring their testimony of the church and erasing any doubts that they had! and they brought the spirit so strong!! The whole family felt it I am sure!!
A funny experience that we had this week is we were going to an appointment with a less active to help her grandchildren with some of their math homework and we notice two guys in white shirts! IT was the elders! Turns out this less active had asked us both to come over to help prepare her kids for baptism! So we both taught the girls but the elders had to stand outside since their was no man in the house so they were teaching when all of a sudden and little kid comes up to them and asks, "what are you doing?" and the elders where like, "uh...teaching a family." and then the kid (who is like 8 or 9) says, "well dont knock on my door." and then races up the stairs to his apartment and the elders where like, "okay..." and then later in the lesson the kid comes down with something behind his back, and the elders were teaching the lessson so they werent paying attention and then he pulls out there HUGE scissors that are like the size of his head! and we tell the elders to turn around and the kid suddenly starts backing away! The elders where so scared for their life. They kept on checking to see if the kid had cut their shirt or pants. and then every time they would look away from him to teach the lesson, he would slowly start walking towards them again! pretty soon the elders would say one sentence in the lesson and then pass it to us so that they could make sure the kid wasnt coming closer! hahaha poor elders! We felt so bad but it was so funny and we couldnt stop laughing! Oh man!
Welll I love you guys!! Offically only have six more months on my mission! Scariest thing ever!

September 8, 2014-Doral South

Hey guys!:) Sorry this week the blog post will be a little short but things have been going so good! We have been able to see so many miracles especially with Amelia! She is so amazing!:)) We love her so much!!! We had assigned her Alma 32 for her to read talking all about faith. And we went and visited her and she right away told us, "So i think my little seed of faith is growing!" I was so happy when she said that because one, it meant she actually did her reading which i dont know why i would even doubt that she didn't because she reads the Book of Mormon every night! she loves it. And two that she understood what the chapter was saying and she applied it to herself!:) It is so amazing to be able to see people grow more and more in the gospel! The members here are so kind! I love them so much! They are so humble and willing to help anyone in anyway. The Venezuelan family that we are teaching are having a little bit of a hard time and all the members have come together to help them! Its amazing to see the effort that they have put to help a family they don't even really know!:) That is the pure love of Christ and I am so grateful that I have had to opportunity to witness that. I have offically hit my year mark! I only have six months left which is crazy to me! I cant believe it! I still feel like i just got here like three months. We have been teaching one of our investigators English and she is so cute!:) she studies like 3 hours every day and she wants to do so well so bad!! She got a B on her test in the beginning of the week and came back so disappointed! she wanted an A so bad! so on thurs. she had a test that covered everything and she was so nervous! We went over to help with any last minute confusions that she might have and then shared a message with her about how is she is giving her all, Heavenly Father makes us the rest! She calmed down so much after that. She calls us the next day ecstatic!!! She said she got an A on her test!:) and that the minute she found out she thought, The sister must have been praying for me:) shes so cute!:)) anyways that all for this week:) I love you! and I hope everything is going good:) and if it isnt dont worry, Heavenly Father always makes up the rest;)

September 2, 2014-Doral South

miracle upon miracle this week guys!:)) So it all started with a simple oym (Open your mouth-basically just talking to people on the street, giving them cards, asking if they would like a prayer) So we were harvesting one day and we see this family(a mom, dad and a little girl) passing by and we decide to go give them a card. They were so friendly and loved the card so much that at first I thought they were being sarcastic but they weren't!!! We asked them if they would like a prayer and they super loved it! but they didnt accept baptism so we invited them to church and to an activity that we would be having the next day for the ward. They said that they would come but people usually say that so we just kind of forgot about them for the rest of the day. The next day we go for the activity and NO ONE IS THERE! We had so much food and this humongous (did i spell that right?) cake and no one was at the activity. The missionaries had set up the activity to have people invite there friends to the church so we pretty much felt like that little kid that invites everyone to his birthday party and no one comes. Finally a youth came and we were super excited for that so we played basketball with her. People started filing in little by little (Amelia came with her mom!:D) and we were super grateful to have them there. So we had set up a game of Jeopardy using church facts and we were going to start that when guess who shows up?? THE GUY WE OYMed!!:) We were so excited to see him there and then he tells us, "Yeah, I came here with my whole family, they are in the car, is it okay if they come in?" Ahhh!!! you would not beleive my face! haha:) I practically pulled him to his car and out come three of his children and his wife! They are such an awesome family! they are so nice and caring! They just came from venezuela 15 days ago!! so his whole family come to the jeopardy came and we are a little scared that they will be super confused and get bored with all the church facts but they had a good time!! they where just laughing at how competitive all the members where being and they were yelling and arguing and everyone was laughing! I couldnt believe it! It was such a miracle!! and then we invited them to church and THEY CAME!!!:)) and they loved it!:) They made friends with pretty much everyone in the ward. We went to go over to see them yesterday and they were all waiting for us! Their little daughter, who is five, had been waiting at the door for 15 min. waiting for us to get there:) she is so adorable!!! The whole family is adorable! Me and sister moffett love them so much! So Heavenly Father definitely loves us so much for sending us into the path of this beautiful family!:)
So another crazy experiance this week! We had gone on splits with some members to go visit some investigators and less actives and Me and a member were on our way when all of a sudden we here a THUMP,THUMP, THUMP coming from the car, I was like "what is that??" and then the member says, "You have a flat tire!" OH man!! We get out of the car and look at the tire and it is COMPLETELY FLAT!! The member and I look at each other and she asks me, "Do you know how to change a tire?"and im like, "uh...no,(because honestly i wasnt paying attention when they taught it to us in Young Womens)  do you know how to change a tire?" and shes like, "Nope"  Ahh!! So my first reaction is of course to call the elders! I call them up and was like, "So elders! Guess what? We have a flat tire and we dont know how to change it....and also by the way im on splits with a member, okay thanks for coming bye!" hahaha they must have been pretty annoyed but oh well so they start coming on there way, and while i am doing this, the awesome member that i have with me starts figuring things out on her own, she gets a the spare tire from the trunk and starts trying to figure it out on her own!:) she sees a guy walking his dog on the sidewalk and yells at him, "Hey friend! Could you come and help us change this tire?" and you wouldnt believe it! He came right over! He helps us change our tire so quick!! I text the elders saying, "Jusst kidding you dont have to come over, our member just called some random guy off the street to change it:)" It was a miracle!! and you know whats even a bigger miracle!! guess what kind of job the random guy walking down the street at eight o clock at night has?  He is a mechanic! Heavenly Father is real.
Well I love you guys!!!!! Hope everything is super awesome!!!

August 25, 2014-Doral South

Hey guys!:)
Sorry this post is going to be a little short but I am including pictures so that should make up for it. This week we really learned the importance of Diligence!! We worked so hard this week and are pumped up and excited to see the miracle that are going to come from it. Amelia is doing soooo good!:) She is still looking for a job but she is reading every night and is so happy to see us every night!:) She has so much faith that it inspires us so much!! And Javier is improving also seems like his faith is growing every day and we are so proud of the progress he is making. We had stake conference this week and it was amazing!:) It was such a great spiritual experience and really lifted our spirits for the oncoming week! This week we went on exchanges and I went up to snapper creek with the STL (sister training leader) there and my companion sister moffett stayed! This was the first time for her taking over the area and she was so nervous! But she did AMAZING!:)) I was so proud of her!:) I felt like a mother bird watching her baby bird fly off for the first time! hahaha:) Anyways the exchange was super fun and interesting! Some of the investigators that they had were super interesting. So the STL Sister Bird warned me before we went into the lesson that this investigator was a little bit interesting. So we go in and he just starts saying the most difficult and biggest words I have ever heard in my life! I was just staring at him the whole time wondering if he was speaking English. Im pretty sure i looked super confused with my eyes just opened as wide as they can  be, trying to at least understand the simple words that he used like "Heaven" and "God" hahahaha. Anyways...Here are some pictures for you!!:)

The STLS we went on exchanges with. They are super nice.

P.S. I got to see a family that I knew from my first area at the stake conference and I was so excited to see them!!:)) I love them sooo much!!! I took a picture with them!:D

P.S. So we had kind of a rough day because we had been knocking doors pretty much all day, so the last five minutes of the night we might or might not have gone and played on the swings at a park!

P.S.S. And we might have also played on the slide...

AMELIA GOT BAPTIZED!!!!!

It was amazing guys! So many obstacles came in the way of her getting baptized but we were able to hurdle over them and she loved the baptism!!! We are so proud of her  because she is going through some pretty rough stuff right now but we know that God is going to bless her for making the decisions to be baptized and especially that now she has our whole ward family to help her:)
I have come to truly love this ward sooo much!!!! Everyone is so kind! One of the sisters brought a cake to celebrate my birthday this Sunday and it was so delicious!:))) They are so kind!!!
By the way! MY BIRTHDAY was awesome!!! First off! For District Training the elders kind of made it a little birthday party and they gave me a present and decorated the room! It was so nice of them. and then in the middle of district training, for a demonstration showing how we need the spirit there to guide us so that we can hit the goals that we want in our lives, they blindfolded me and directed me towards the gym. They told me that there was a pinata in there somewhere and gave me a stick and told me to try to hit it. But I couldn't because i had no idea where it was. and then they had my companion come and guide me to the pinata, so that i could know where it is and be able to hit it!:) I felt like i was at home with the pinata and it was so much fun to hit it!! ahaha then the sisters made me a cake and we celebrated after the district training:)
Then on my actual birthday we had a zone conference and i got to see people that i hadn't seen in a long time!:) and we had a little dinner afterward! It felt like a little party made just for me.
But anyways!! Another transfer just passed!!! but me and sister moffett are staying since we are training right now! You don't know how much of a relief that was!:) Anyways sorry this one is a little short but i am going to send some pictures:)
