March 24, 2014-Hialeah, FL

Okay guys guess what!? It was another miracle week!! yay!! haha:) Okay so first off. We had a really good week:) I love the people here and just being here being able to be a small part of the Lords work and the opportunities that he has given me are tremendous. I have felt so blessed this week for this opportunity to go on a mission and be able to grow so much in just the few months i have been here. on the other hand,  I have been getting bit like crazy from mosquito's its crazy! and also we were on bikes a lot this week so I have a couple bruises from that:) But i loved every minute of it! Whenever I'm on bikes it makes me feel like I am really doing missionary work! We try to stop everyone we see!:) We even chase down people who are on there bikes and try to pass them a card while they are passing us:)) Its fun!! anyways! so a miracle that happened this week:) LIDUVINA CAME TO CHURCH!! AHH!!:) We were so excited:) so we found liduvina the first day i was in the area and we were teachign her ever since but we were getting to a point that we thought we should stop teaching her. In the middle of this week she calls us and tells us, " I want to get baptized, when can I get baptized??" and we where stoked!:) and then she came to church and was so happy to be there:) she loved it!! It was a little awkward at first when we realized it was ward conference and we had to lift our hand to sustain a million people but she went right along with it and was raising her hand:) It was the best!! and then when a member was talking to her we overheard the member ask her, "So when are you getting baptized?" and liduvina said, "As soon as possible":))ahh!! she told us that she had been able to feel God's love so much more in her life ever since she has been meeting with us and she loved church so much and is coming with us to the open house:) She just came from cuba like a year ago and she is like 70 years old but she is awesome! she was telling us how she used to be a ballerina and a singer on television and the radio when she was younger!! How cool is that!:)) anyways...Everyone in the mission is super excited for the temple its really all anyone can talk about. We just found out that we get to be there for the open house for five whole days!! helping out!:) we are stoked!! anways, my area is a blast! I love it so much! the people here are so humble and ready to accept the gospel and whenever they let us in they offer us food and cookies and pretty much everything they are so nice:) We just went to the wonderful flea market again and it was the best!! We even got some hotdogs and they had corn and raspados and coconuts!! Dream come true!! I love it!!!! anways i love you guys thanks so much for reading my blog!

March 17, 2014-Hialeah, FL

Okay guys this week was full of miracles!!This week we oymed pretty much everyone we saw and since we are kind of running out of miles we have been biking a lot...like a LOT... anyways, while we where on our bikes we tired to talk to everyone we saw. it was kind of comical because my bike is a little bit too tall for me so I have to like jump off my bike and then my skirt flies everywhere and then we like corner these people with our bikes and hand then a card or ask them if they would like a prayer. We might have scared some people but it was a lot of fun and my companion and I were having a blast and we saw so many miracles from this. We found this guy that had a huge countenance change after the prayer and asked us even before we asked him how he felt, "So When are you coming back? I like this feeling" :) I love the area that I am in! It is the absolute best! Everyone here speaks Spanish first and then English :) Its awesome! Even the stores signs are in Spanish!! Some of the places we go to are a little sketchy but its fun!! Everyone is so nice!! We might have seen a wanted sign for a scary looking guy on multiple flies on some apartments we were knocking doors on but its still a blast!:) Heavenly Father has been helping me so much. While we are in lessons I will just open my mouth and hope that something understandable comes out in Spanish and this awesome thing comes out and I'm like, where did that come from? I don't think I've ever used that word in Spanish." Its awesome! Talk about the gift of tongues that heavenly father has been so kind to bless me with. Of course when I have to talk to my companion in language study its a little harder but Im working on it:) Also this week our family that we have been teaching came to church!!! We were so excited!! It was a little stressful because at first they came like 20 minutes late and we wanted them to be there for sacrament so we had them go to sunday school and then took them to the other wards sacrament that starts at eleven and they loved itt!!! They hadn't eaten breakfast before they got there so we were really worried that they were having a horrible time and were so hungry but at the end we asked the grandma how she felt and she was like, "So good! Im not even hungry anymore!" haha:)  that was a relief to hear. I feel like they are our babies and we want them to have the best time ever and try to protect them from anything that might sound weird or anybody that might offend them. I don't think I have ever prayed hard enough for someone who is talking in church not to say anything weird that might make us sound like a cult haaha:) But thankfully they loved it!! and are preparing for baptism! The pictures at the end are of me and an (eternal) investigator Roberto from my old area that would feed us starbuck sandwiches whenever we didn't have even money for food:)) He saved us so many times! I love him!! We heartattacked his house like two months ago and he still has the hearts on his door he is so proud of them:) and then its me in front of a million m&ms and then the temple!!!

Love,
Hermana Miles

March 10, 2014-Hialeah, FL

Okay guess what guys??? I GOT SENT TO HIALEAH!!!!!! SPANISH SPEAKING!!!!! I am so excited!!! When I first found out I was so surprised I couldnt believe it!! But this area is so AWESOME!! The first day that I had here was increadible!! I couldn't believe it. The people here are just so ready for the gospel. My companion is so awesome too!! Her name is Sister Ware and she is from Washington and I love her!!:) We have a blast together just doing missionary work:) So the first day that I was here was amazing. We went and visited this referral from the Elders and we saw the grandma and the grandkid and they were so excited for church and to get baptized. Then the next day we visited her and her sister was there and when we taught about Joseph Smith her sister got really excited and told her see?? I told you:) Turns out that back in her country she had gone to church a couple times and had loved it and had seen the missionaries and when she saw the Book of Mormon on her sisters table she got really excited. she was so happy when we handed her her very own Book of Mormon and told her she could keep it. Then on the first day we were knocking doors and this lady comes out and loves the prayers and says that she is coming to church even if she had to walk there:) We assured her that we would love for her to come and we even had a ride for her:) The ward here is awesome! When we went to the church that first night the chapel was filled with life I couldn't fit it all into my head. It was like in those movies where you go somewhere and so many things are happening at the same time the person gets overwhelmed (does that make sense) Like in one room the Young women where practicing a song and then in another room the Relief Soceity was having a lesson and then people where talking in the foyer and then the Boy scouts where cutting wood in the kitchen! My  eyes where probably so big I couldn't take it all in! I just realized I like used the word awesome multiple times in this email but there is seriously no other word to explain it. AND the members come out with us and drive us to places! I love them. and oh man! Do they feed us! I love the food so much! Its so delicious!! Im so excited! And then we went to the flea market today that we have in our area and will you believe that they have corn on the cob with chile!!!:)) I couldnt believe it and raspado!! We are so goign there every week now:) Well I love you guys! I had a great week! Thank you for all your prayers!:)
Love Hermana Miles
P.S. I love speaking spanish!

March 4, 2014-Sweetwater, FL

Okay guys guess what? IM TRANSFERRING!!! That means I am finally leaving my first area. It is really unusual for a missionary to be in an area for six months. It is really exciting and Nerve Wracking at the same time. We dont know where I'm going yet I think thats what I am most nervous about!! All missionaries that are leaving there area find out together in this big room on a projector where they put each name up individually and there are a lot of gasps and shocks!:)) EXCITING. But I will definitly miss this area. Being here for so long made me love my ward so much!! They are like my second family now. I remember first being here and not knowing who anyone was and not knowing anyones name and now I love going to church and saying Hi to everyone!:)) It's something I am going to miss. and also I finally learned how to drive in this area and how to get home which is a pretty intense task if you know how bad I am with directions haha:) But anyways so This week the Bishop asked us to go see a bunch of less active people in the church and of course we said sure!! We put the address in the GPS and happily go on our way. There we are driving along listening and singing along to the christmas CD of David Archuleta (which I am seriously done with and never want to listen to again after listening to it for a week straight) and then we start to notice that the area looks a little different. I think to myself, hmm, I've never seen this area before I guess this is just on our border, oh well, and then we see  this HUGE BUILDING (which ended up being the Marlins Stadium) and I just look and my companion and my companion looks at me with big eyes and goes, "We are OUT OF OUR ZONE!!" ...
Okay let me explain as missionaries we are given an area and we are not supposed to go out of that area but sometimes we can go out of it for certain stuff but then we have a zone area and you are NOT supposed to go out of your Zone without permission so its really bad if you do. okay back to the story...
...I start freaking out like, "WHAT? what do I do? Do I turn? Sister!!"
My companion, " Sister Turn around, Turn AROUND, TURN AROUND!"
Me, " I can't, I can't, I can't!"
We were only a couple blocks out of our zone but we were freaking out so much it seemed like we had run over somethihng haha:) anyways as we are finally entering back into our zone we calm down a little and I say to my companion, "and thats why we dont give the car to Sister Miles"
:) Hope you guys have a GREAT WEEK!!!!! I know I will:)) I love you!! I ll let you know where I'm going next week!
Hurrah For Israel.
Love Hermana Miles
P.S. Transfer Miracles coming next week!
